Patron

A Patron is a sort of well heeled host or sponsor, often the beginning of an adventure arc for an enterprising referee.

Patrons are almost always NPCs, although other possibilities exist. A clever referee can transform a patron into a vexing antagonist.

History & Background (Dossier)

Patrons tend to be high level NPC's and a major tool of the referee. A good referee will use a patron to help guide the adventurers towards certain goals.
