History & Background (Dossier)

Palindrome could offer a jump-3 link across the centre of the subsector, but it is less important than Vume. It is a backwater, and its supposed B-class starport (constructed by General Development Corporation) is largely abandoned.

The port at Palindrome is notably anti-Imperial in outlook.

The planet itself was populated during the time of the Sindalian Empire, but its people left or died out after the Empire's collapse.

World Starport (Sp)

Palindrome has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Note that this port is considered to be B-class "in name only"; it is now largely lacking in useful facilities.

Urbanization

The one surface settlement of note is Astrogo, the fief of a former pirate, the self-styled Lady Yemar. She set up Palindrome as a clearing house for stolen goods and a waystation for travellers. She uses the profits to pay for her expensive life support needs stemming from an exposure to an experimental bioweapon. She has had her organs replaced multiple times and even her brain needs constant maintenance, which she travels to Theev to attend to.
