Pador is an industrial, high-population desert hellworld, with a billion or more sophonts struggling to survive in a inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Orret Subsector of Far Home Sector.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
- Pador directly controls three worlds:

System data
K1 primary is an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.352 Sols, a mass of 0.774 Sols, and a diameter of 1.168 million km.
Companion is a brown dwarf with a diameter of 60,000 km.
Orbital position (II) is unavailable due to the presence of companion. (III) Pador orbits primary in the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a small gas giant, (V, VI) two small icy vacuum worlds, and (VII) an exotic atmosphere world form the outer system. Many of the worlds in the system retain satellites.

Mainworld Data
Although Pador is technically a desert world (there is no free-standing surface water) the whole of the surface is heavily vegetated. The atmospheric taint is caused by an extremely low humidity. Breathing the air without protective equipment dries and inflames the lining of the respiratory tract and leads to severely irritated sinuses, irritated eyes, and skin problems; long-term exposure results in blindness and respiratory failure.
Mainworld Geography & Topography
The surface of Pador is divided into Highland regions (equivalent to continental landmasses) and Lowland regions (equivalent to oceanic basins). There are less Highland regions than Lowland - the ratio is approximately 40% / 60%.
Native Lifeforms
Pador has extensive and abundant native life, and almost every part of its surface is heavily vegetated - only the frigid polar zones truly resemble a desert. There are distinct differences between the flora and fauna native to Highland regions and Lowland regions.
History & Background / Dossier
Pador is a long-settled system in the rimward half of Far Home Sector. It has been inhabited for millennia and has a population of 5 billion. It is self-sufficient in food, it is industrialised, and is one of the most technologically advanced worlds within the Distant Fringe. Padoran-built starships are highly sought after.
World Starport
Pador has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- Peace footing (government modifier x1.2). Port Capacity: 6,000,000 dTons
Pador is the premier builder of starships within the Distant Fringe. All other manufacturers and ports measure themselves against Padori shipyards.
World Technology Level
Pador possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government
Pador is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
