Outer Worlds are star-away of the Habitable Zone.
- Planet or world type.
Description / Specifications
The Outer Worlds are those worlds that fall outside the Habitable Zone of the System in which they are found. These worlds are characterised by the temperatures being too low for humans to survive long-term unaided. Generally, these worlds will be permanently ice-bound and any open-water that is present will be heavily contaminated with Ammonia or other chemicals that act as anti-freeze. Most of these worlds will be outside the "Frost-Line": That temperature band where water will be lost during planetary formation because of the heat of the central Star.
Outer Worlds will often include Gas Giants (and their moons).
