System Data
Toshi-Oswell System
The primary is Toshi, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.886 Sols, a mass of 0.98 Sols, and a diameter of 1.391 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world – orbital position (I) is empty. (III) Oswell orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a small gas giant, and (VII) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III) Oswell
(III) Oswell is designated the mainworld. It orbits Toshi at a mean distance of 0.64 AU (95.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 188 days 22 hours and a rotation period of 44 hours. The axial tilt is 141 degrees. Oswell has a diameter of 9,939 km, a density of 6.02 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.86 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 2.21 bar and a composition of 76% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne), and other trace gases. Approximately 63% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.35m. Mean surface temperature: 25°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe.
Satellite
Oswell retains a single natural satellite, a trace atmosphere ice-capped worldlet named Plusk:
- (IIIa) Plusk (known UWP ?211???-?, orbiting at 40 Diameters/397,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 310 million km², Land surface area: 195 million km², Water surface area: 115 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Toshi-Oswell System
Oswell has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
