Orret is a poor, non-agricultural and nonindustrial desert world with no free-standing water.

  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • This world has few prospects for economic expansion and life is very bleak and trying here.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a part of the Hell Worlds in the Orret Subsector of Far Home Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

System Data

Intens-Orret System

The primary is Intens, an intensely hot white bright giant star. It has a luminosity of 750 Sols, a mass of 9.8 Sols, and a diameter of 20.6 million km. (II) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (III) a vacuum inner world, (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (V) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (VI) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (VII) a vacuum worldlet, and (VIII) Orret, designated the mainworld, form the inner system – orbital position (I) is empty. Few of the worlds retain satellites.

Igusu Subsystem

The companion is Igusu, an ordinary yellow main sequence star that lies approximately 3650 AU from Intens. It has a luminosity of 0.52 Sols, a mass of 0.871 Sols, and a diameter of 1.264 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, and (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world. (III) a standard atmosphere hospitable world orbits within the habitable zone. (IV) a thin atmosphere hospitable world forms the inner part of the outer system. Orbital positons (V) to (IX) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (X) a large gas giant, and (XI) a ringed small gas giant form the outer part of the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Blum Subsystem

The far companion is Blum, a dim red subdwarf star that orbits Igusu at 6.1 AU (orbital position (VII), 913 million km) and has an orbital period of 16 years 53 days. It has a luminosity of 0.00103 Sols, a mass of 0.081 Sols, and a diameter of 109,000 km. (I) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (II) a small ice giant, and (III) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.

World starport

Orret has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Orret possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government

Orret has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
