Okhuemgir Subsector is Subsector N of Gzaekfueg Sector.
- It lies within Charted Space.
- It is part of the Vargr Extents.
Description / Specifications
Okhuemgir Subsector is a backwater Vargr-dominated region lying on the edge of the Windhorn Rift.
- The resources of the subsector are being exploited.
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Okhuemgir Subsector:
- The subsector is a low stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the blue-white giant primary of the Gzazoevaellu system.
Stellar Distribution
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Okhuemgir Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Rift Regions
The subsector lies on the edge of the Windhorn Rift.
- The rift hinders travel and commerce within the region.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic concept based on Jump Drive performance.
The boundaries of rifts were established centuries ago, when the highest commonly encountered tech level was TL–12.
- This level of technology allowed the routine use of up to Jump-3 drives.
- Areas that couldn't be crossed by Jump-3-capable vessels were denoted as rifts.
This traditional definition of rift regions remains in use today: while modern high performance starships can easily cross them, most commercial vessels continue to utilize Jump-3 or less drives. Because of this most traffic is concentrated within higher stellar density regions, and as such the classic definition and boundaries of rift regions remains relevant.

Okhuemgir, subsector N of Gzaekfueg contains 18 worlds with an estimated population of 34 billion, a per capita income of Cr7,748, and a total economy is BCr265,084. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr19 through 15 starports (2 Class A, 2 Class B, 9 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 2,410 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Okhuemgir maintain eight Corsair bases, and three Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 13 at Sudhaenga (Gzaekfueg 1538).
Okhuemgir, subsector N of Gzaekfueg contains 27 stars and no identified planets; nine monostellar systems, nine binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 16 of the 18 systems (88%) have native gas giants. History & Background (Dossier)
The Vilani had contact with the Gvegh, Aekhu and Logaksu before -2400 in regions such as Provence Sector, though the Vargr were initially seen more as a curiosity than a threat. The Vargr in turn learned of the vast, immensely wealthy, and militarily weak human empire, a temptation that was impossible for them to ignore. Within a few decades the Vargr were actively raiding Vilani settlements in Windhorn and Corridor Sectors. The Vilani in turn moved the majority of their defenses towards these areas.
Other Vargr racial groups (the proto-Irilitok, Ovaghoun, Suedzuk and Urzaeng) took longer to find a path around the coreward end of the Windhorn Rift, but when routes were eventually found they made a beeline for the poorly defended coreward edge of the Ziru Sirka and its riches. These regions, already stripped of their meager defenses to prop up sectors further to spinward, were easy prey for the new waves of Vargr. The vast distances the Vargr had to travel limited the numbers of raiders who actually reached the Ziru Sirka: substantially more Vargr found promising worlds en route and decided to settle them instead.
Ruled from the subsector capital of Gzugo, Okhuemgir Subsector is dominated economically by Sudhaenga and remote but just as Important {Ix} Aengllog (Gzaekfueg 1538) and 1234). A dance between subsector government and mercantile funding is an ambient, low growl in this region of space as the Cyan trade route continues rimward into Meshan Sector.
It is unclear if Aengllog was circumvented on political maneuvers or corporate decision-making as to why the Cyan trade route detours trailing into Ungludh before arcing back to rimward Okhuemgir. This has the Balkanized Factions of Aengllog scratching their lupine heads and questioning the value of their exports. Could the location along the shores of the Windhorn Rift be a factor?
Vuzzoz’ Bloodletters
Vuzzoz’ Bloodletters are a subsector-wide Corsair band in Okhuemgir Subsector of Gzaekfueg Sector and controls or uses seven Corsair Bases therein. Countered by only three Naval Bases, smuggling and outright piracy upon the Cyan trade route that detours into Ungludh Subsector is almost unchecked. This band of Corsairs uses pack tactics to herd a merchant vessel or convoy toward an ambush of more Corsair starships or local spacecraft. Any merchantman that falls behind is assuredly singled out for an attack by spaceship weapons and boarding. The Bloodletters are known for very dangerous piloting, coming within point-blank range of their prey.
Spoils of a successful raid or space piracy are divided among the participating vessels, even to the contracting of a salvage vessel that will often dismantle a captured ship for its expensive systems. Such assets are then peddled in pirate coves at worlds with Corsair Bases as the predatory vessels go to ground in preparation for the next attack or raid.
Crews captured by the Vuzzoz’ Bloodletters are often deposited on Duvarroez (Gzaekfueg 1433) if they are Urzaeng. Other sub-species can alternately be sold as slaves to worlds outside the Ruler of Five confederation, such as Gzaedhkirrg (Gzaekfueg 1131). Most prisoners try to pay the Corsairs an equal or greater sum for the amount that enslaving them would earn in exchange for release on Duvarroez.
Vuzzoz Bloodletters see themselves as pruning the interstellar market, gently tapping convoys rather than blockading traffic entirely. Their leader, a callous and impatient female Urzaeng known only as Vuzzoz-edh <daughter of Vuzzoz> gathers her forces of less than ten starships and between fifteen and twenty in-system spaceships, (often rentals), to swarm a convoy at 100 Diameter breakout points.
