Obo's Moon is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- It is a subject world of the Korsumug Empire located in the Siridor Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
- About 50% of the population is composed of baseline humans.
- About 50% of the population is composed of Jaibok.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
The Obo's Moon system lies on the rimward edge of Siridor Subsector.
- It is a part of the Siridor Trace.

Mainworld Data
Obo's Moon has been designated the mainworld.
Mainworld Size (S)
This world is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
This world has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
This world has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Satellites:
None.
Mainworld Geography & Topography
A simple map of Obo's Moon showing regolith plains, rugged highland regions, broad flat mare paved smooth by ancient lava flows and named for their resemblance to seas, and major craters.
Native Lifeforms

History & Background (Dossier)
Obo's Moon has been occupied by the Jaibok.
- It has been under occupation for around two decades.
- It has been incorporated into the Korsumug Empire.
The Korsumug Immortal Legion Fleet patrols the system.
The standard of the Immortal Legion Fleet.
World starport
Obo's Moon has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- The world had a Class B Starport prior to the Jaibok invasion. Much of the facility lies in ruins, with one isolated section serving as the current port.
World Technology Level
Obo's Moon possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
The Jaibok are systematically looting the technology and equipment on the world and the local population is a fraction of its former numbers. It is likely that the tech level will soon drop.
World Government
Obo's Moon has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
- Government structures have been effectively non-existent since the Jaibok conquest.
- Things are kept running by negotiated deals with the Jaibok, by actively scavenging for parts, and through black market activities.
World Law
Obo's Moon has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Military
The world has no standing military.
- A Jaibok military garrison is in place on the world.
World Economy
- Resources 6 (Few)
- Labor 1 (Tens)
- Infrastructure 1 (Extremely limited)
- Efficiency +4 (Advanced)
Trade Data
The principal exports are raw mineral ores and processed metals, principally rare elements that are sought by heavy industry on Siridor.
The world is not self-sufficient and requires imports of almost every necessity.
- Luxuries command premium prices.
World Demographics
Population 700
- Approximately 360 humans, primarily technical personnel operating and maintaining a number of automated mining and processing plants.
- Approximately 340 Jaibok, largely technical staff examining and looting items of technology and troops guarding automated facilities.
World Culture
- Homogeneity 2 (Monolithic)
- Acceptance 2 (Very xenophobic)
- Strangeness 3 (Somewhat typical)
- Symbols B (Abstract)
Linguistic Topography
The most commonly spoken language within the system is Siri, a local dialect of Galanglic.
Historical Data
Early in its development, billions of years ago, Obo's Moon was bombarded with planetoids as the system was forming. Some of these were extremely rich in rare elements.
- These deposits attracted the first enterprising miners, who extracted and refined the valuable minerals. A permanent facility was in place by the early 700s, operated by a colorful individual named Arlen Obo. His ramshackle operation became the foundation of Obo's Moon Processing (O.M.P), an efficient mineral exploration and processing company that claimed jurisdiction over the system.
- The corporate government invested heavily in the world, upgrading the technology and facilities to better exploit the limited mineral wealth.
- Obo's Moon continues to provide valuable raw materials to the heavy industries of Siridor, though since the Jaibok invasion in substantially lower quantities.
The reasonable conditions and decent pay offered by O.M.P attracted workers, swelling the population. In their wake came a host of merchants, barkeeps, entertainers, gamblers, conmen, and prostitutes, eager to take their cut of the credits being made.
- By the 900s, through a gradual process of legal hearings and recognition of rights, O.M.P's corporate government had become a representative democracy.
- Prior to the Jaibok occupation, Obo's Moon was an important Jump-2 link between Siridor, Marriot, and Weil.
- The starport was large and busy, being rated as a Class B facility. It was extensively damaged during the Jaibok invasion and has never been repaired.
Obo's Moon was invaded and occupied by the Korsumug Empire in 1085.
- A large percentage of the original inhabitants fled, escaping to the Marriot system, where they remain as refugees and plan the reconquest of their home.
- The Jaibok are known to have committed mass executions and other atrocities immediately after their conquest of the system.
- The remaining human population almost entirely work within the few operational mining and processing plants.

- 1085: the Korsumug Empire occupy the system after a brutal military conquest.
- 1091: the world is incorporated into the Korsumug Empire.
UWP Listing
- Early mineral extraction: E100113-9 Lo Va Sa (population approximately 30)
