Nyanar is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Edge Subsector of Daibei Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
- This world was colonized by and is controlled from Warinir (Daibei Sector, Edge 0507)

Mainworld Environment & Ecology
The combined output of the two dim red stars produces a habitable zone and native life is present. The photosynthetic autotrophs are interesting because of their dark black coloration, their light sensitive pigments must absorb all frequencies of electromagnetic radiation, if they are to have a chance of receiving enough energy to synthesize organic polymers. The combined gravitational pull of these two stars in addition to the close proximity of the habitable zone, slows axial rotation and speeds orbital revolution. The lower gravity, combined with the thick oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere produces some spectacular species.

History & Background (Dossier)
- Nyanar is a world famed for its small but highly skilled orbital naval boatyards.
- This planet is important as the only Naval Base for the 171st Fleet. This fleet is charged with the protection of the Edge Subsector and protects the border for the Daibei Sector Fleet. Colonial rule is supported by the elite 244th Regimental Combat Team. A portion of the naval facilities are located on the moon, along with some imported meson gun deep sites for system defense.
- Nyanar used to be a rich agricultural planet. The population was higher at 600,000 and it hadn't become a colony yet. It was in fact a feudal technocracy. Things changed once the imperials reasserted control and an imperial naval base was placed here to ensure no one got any strange ideas. During that period of turmoil Aslan, Reaver and Solomani Fleets swept through several subsectors toward the rim. As time has passed there is less of a military aspect to the colonial rule. The law level is higher now than it was to keep the small remaining population disarmed and less dangerous if disloyal thinking should stir.
Imperial Landed Nobility (N)
This world, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
World Starport (Sp)
This world has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The Starport Authority employee population is approximately 55,545 sophonts.
World Population (P)
This world has a population of 10,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- This world has a population of approximately 40,000 sophonts.
World Demographics
World Government (G)
This world has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
World Law Level (L)
This world has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)
This world possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Military
This world has a Battalion Equivalent figure of 0.
- There are no indigenous organized ground forces on this world. The 244th Regimental Combat Team is considered an Imperial Army formation.
