The Nogo class Fast Attack Craft is a light warship.

Description (Specifications)

The TL–11 hulls have Jump-2 drives and carry enough internal fuel for two range 2-Jumps, and carry drop tanks with 28 days of power plant fuel and an additional Jump-2 as needed. The Nogo class Fast Attack Craft are used for long range missile bombardment of fixed and surface targets. It is fitted with a model 2 computer adjacent to the bridge. They have a fully streamlined needle/wedge structure hull equipped with fuel scoops for wilderness ocean refueling.

The Nogo class is a term used by outside defense departments to identify a series of new warships built by the Leader. These are converted merchant vessels, rebuilt for the service. Six of these vessels are believed to be in service, but they appear to form the core of a modernized naval force.

The Leader's military shipbuilding program experimented with an innovative streamlined hull design borrowed from civilian ship builders. When the economy showed some signs of recovering after the great famine, the Navy started introducing this design to modernize its fleet. The design is relatively advanced, and now adopted with some success. The first vessels of the class appeared as Q-ships to destroy would-be pirate raiders. Considering the lack of official released data, most of features, design and details are speculations of analysts after observation of satellite pictures. Weapons appears to be a pair of triple missile turrets, each is equipped to track targets and engage as separate batteries. Later propaganda footage of these missile boats are seen to be firing salvos of the relatively effective 50kg Kh-35 homing missiles. Despite being less advanced in terms of fire control computers, than some their rivals, the Nogo class missile boats could face enemy patrol vessels on nearly equal terms. The first images of these vessels were employed in testing a reversed-engineered type of operator guided missiles based on the Kh-35. Fast and agile enough to turn the tables on unsuspecting aggressors, they are hampered by the lack of magazine fed missile storage.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]
