The Nexxies are a human chimera, recently genetically engineered to help exploit the water world of Nexine (Spinward Marches 3030).
History & Background (Dossier)
The Nexine Mining Consortium was granted the license to mine resources from Nexine, but most high tech mining methods damage the local environment and prevent the creation of Gemores. The first true Nexxies were bred in 1096, making them the youngest human race.
