Originally envisioned as much larger vessels, budget cuts and the maintenance burdens necessitated smaller hulls. They have a streamlined saucer hull capable of atmospheric operations and is fitted with fuel scoops for ocean refueling. They offer 3G acceleration, and 2 agility.
