Nessor is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Annistu Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System Data

Kuluda-Nessor System

The primary is Kuluda, a orange giant star. It has a luminosity of 185 Sols, a mass of 4.4 Sols, and a diameter of 36.733 million km – the corona of the star extends to 0.13 AU, within orbital position (I). The inner system consists of (II) a vacuum inner world, (III) a vacuum inner world, (IV) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (V) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (VI) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, and (VII) the Nessor Main Belt, designated the mainworld – orbital position (I) is empty. (VIII-I) a ringed large gas giant, and (VIII-II) a small gas giant have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (IX) a large gas giant forms the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(VII) Nessor Main Belt

(VII) the Nessor Main Belt orbits within the H– region of the inner system and is designated the mainworld. It lies at a mean distance of 2.6 AU from the star and is primarily made up of carbonaceous bodies with diameters of less than 100 km. The inner edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of nickel-iron bodies, is considered to lie at around 2.2 AU from the star and the outer edge of the belt is considered to lie at approximately 3 AU. The main inhabited body is named Pylos, with a mean orbital distance of 2.45 AU around Kuluda and an orbital period of 1 year 302 days. It has a long axis of 230 km, a density of 2.43 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.005 G. It retains no atmosphere and has no hydrographics. Mean surface temperature: 130°C in sunlight, 45°C in shadow.

No world in the system is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)

No information yet available.

World starport

Nessor has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Nessor possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government

Nessor is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
