Natar is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Natar Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System data

The primary is Zened, a swollen red bright giant star. It has a luminosity of 12,800 Sols, a mass of 15.6 Sols and a diameter of 860 million km, extending into orbital position (V) – approximately 2.86 AU. The inner system consists of (V) a large hot gas giant orbiting very close to the surface of the star, (VIII) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (X) the Natar main belt, a dense stony planetoid belt designated as the mainworld – orbital positions (VI), (VII) and (IX) are empty. (XI) a small gas giant, orbits in the habitable zone. (XII, XIII) two small rocky vacuum worlds, (XIV) an exotic atmosphere world, and (XV, XVI) two small icy vacuum worlds form the outer system. The outer gas giant and the outer rocky worlds retain satellites.

World starport

Natar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Natar possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government

Natar is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referendum, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
