System Data

Olon-Nabile System

The primary is Olon, a white giant star. It has a luminosity of 1390 Sols, a mass of 10.2 Sols, and a diameter of 7.29 million km. The inner system consists of (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (V) the Nabile Main Belt, designated the mainworld, and (VI) a sparse stony planetoid belt – orbital positions (I), (II) and (III) are empty.

Jabu Subsystem

The companion is Jabu, an ordinary orange main sequence star that lies approximately 3,800 AU from Olon, the primary, and 6,400 AU from Meep, the far companion. It has a luminosity of 0.216 Sols, a mass of 0.672 Sols, and a diameter of 978,000 km. (I) a standard atmosphere hospitable world orbits within the habitable zone. (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (IV) a ringed large gas giant, (V) a small gas giant, (VI) a small ice giant, and (VII) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Meep Subsystem

The far companion is Meep, a dim red main sequence star that lies approximately 5,200 AU from Olon, the primary, and 6,400 AU from Jabu, the companion. It has a luminosity of 0.004 Sols, a mass of 0.273 Sols, and a diameter of 414,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a very thin atmosphere radworld, (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld, and (IV) a very large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(V) Nabile Main Belt

(V) the Nabile Main Belt orbits within the inner system and is designated the mainworld. It lies at a mean distance of 1.75 AU from the star and is primarily made up of carbonaceous bodies with diameters of less than 100 km. The inner edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of nickel-iron bodies, is considered to lie at around 1.3 AU from the star and the outer edge of the belt is considered to lie at approximately 2.2 AU. The main inhabited body is named Jumpoff, with a mean orbital distance of 1.45 AU around Olon and an orbital period of 3 years 185 days. It has a long axis of 420 km, a density of 3.44 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.02 G. It retains no atmosphere and has no hydrographics. Mean surface temperature: 145°C in sunlight, -55°C in shadow.

Native Lifeforms

Olon-Nabile System

No world in the system is known to have native life.

Jabu Subsystem

The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (I) (within the habitable zone) has extensive, abundant native life, with organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the processes of atmospheric renewal.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive cryophile native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that thrive in the harsh conditions. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the subsystem is known to have native life.

Meep Subsystem

The large gas giant lying in orbital position (IV) (within the outer system) has jovionoid lifeforms within its atmosphere.

No other world in the subsystem is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)

No information yet available.

World starport

Nabile has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

  • The Nabile Locator Beacon is located on Jumpoff, the largest body within the Nabile Main Belt.

World technology level

Nabile possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.

  • These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
  • This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
    • Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
    • Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.

World government

Nabile has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
