Mytas is a poor, nonindustrial world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This world has few prospects for economic development.
  • This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Aredian Subsector of Far Home Sector.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Sangek-Mytas System[edit]

The primary is Sangak, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.034 Sols, a mass of 0.457 Sols and a diameter of 711,000 km. (II-I) Mytas, (II-II) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (III) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system – orbital position (I) is empty. None of the worlds retain satellites.

  • The star experiences periodic flare activity.

Kuruss Subsystem[edit]

The companion is Kuruss, a red subdwarf star that orbits Sangek at 1.63 AU (orbital position (V), 243.8 million km). It has a luminosity of 0.003 Sols, a mass of 0.081 Sols and a diameter of 109,200 km. (I) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (II) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Neither world retains satellites.

  • The two stars orbit a barycenter located at around 0.28 AU (orbital position (I), 41.8 million km). They have an orbital period around one another of 2 years 51 days.

Yova Subsystem[edit]

The far companion is Yova, a dim red main sequence star lying approximately 37.5 AU (orbital position (X), 5.6 billion km) from Sangek. It has a luminosity of 0.025 Sols, a mass of 0.244 Sols and a diameter of 334,000 km. (I-I) a vacuum worldlet (I-II) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, and (IV) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. The bigworld retains a satellite.

  • The star experiences occasional flare activity.
  • The two stars orbit a barycenter located at around 17.5 AU (orbital position (IX), 2.6 billion km). They have an orbital period around one another of 87 years 160 days.

Outer World[edit]

(XIII) An exotic atmosphere bigworld with a high orbital eccentricity orbits the Sangek-Yova barycenter at a mean distance of 296.7 AU, within the outer system. It retains two satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(II-I) Mytas[edit]

(II-I) Mytas is designated the mainworld. It orbits Sangek at a mean distance of 0.36 AU (53.9 million km), within the H– region of the outer system. It has an orbital period of 116 days 17 hours: it is tidally locked to Sangek. The axial tilt is 3 degrees. Mytas has a diameter of 5,130 km, a density of 3.88 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.28 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of both Sangek and Kuruss cause constant geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.68 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N2), 18% abiotic oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 14% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice and lakes of liquid water. Mean surface temperature: -23°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is slow and minor weather systems driven by the star drift across the globe.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 83 million km², Land surface area: 71 million km², Water and ice surface area: 12 million km².

  • Oxygen contained deep within the world's interior is released by outgassing and serves to renew the atmosphere: it continuously reacts with surface materials and other atmospheric gases, gradually reducing the percentage of oxygen in the air.
  • Mytas is a Twilight Zone World.
  • The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky and periodically rise and fall above the horizon in the twilight region.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Sangek-Mytas System[edit]

No world in the system is known to have native life.

Kuruss Subsystem[edit]

No native life is known to exist within the subsystem.

Yova Subsystem[edit]

No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Mytas has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Mytas possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.

World government[edit]

Mytas has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

World military[edit]

Mytas Colonial Occupation Forces include a battalion of Goliath I class AFVs and Goliath II class AFVs.

World economy[edit]

Food production and water management are vital to supporting this population and the scant resources are also made to serve the belters of Lyssana (world) as well.
