Myrhan is a poor, nonindustrial world.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world has few prospects for economic development.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Genesti Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System data
The primary is Wantan, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.334 Sols, a mass of 0.457 Sols and a diameter of 711,000 km. (I) Myrhan orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (II) an exotic atmosphere world forms the outer zone. Neither world retains satellites.
The companion is Kombu, a red subdwarf star which orbits Wantan at a mean separation of 3.1 AU and has an orbital period of 8 years 27 days. It has a luminosity of 0.002 Sols, a mass of 0.104 Sols and a diameter of 145,000 km. (I) a dense rocky planetoid belt forms the outer system.
(I) Myrhan
(I) Myrhan is designated the mainworld. It orbits Wantan at a mean distance of 0.18 AU (26.9 million km), within the systems habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 41 days 6 hours and has a rotation period of 41 days 6 hours: it is tidally locked to the primary. The axial tilt is 4 degrees. Myrhan has a diameter of 8,633 km, a density of 5.98 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.79 G. Tidal stresses cause geological activity and seismic events are common. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.25 bar and a composition of 83% nitrogen, 11% oxygen, 5% carbon dioxide, and 1% argon, carbon monoxide, neon and other trace gases. The taint is caused by a combination of high levels of stellar radiation, a low percentage of atmospheric oxygen, and gases of volcanic origin (primarily carbon dioxide). Approximately 34% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges are around 1m. The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky. Mean surface temperature: 12°C. The atmosphere is slow and local weather systems, driven by the star and the seas, crawl across the globe. The world's climate is static.
Mainworld geography and topography
Total surface area: 234 million km², Bright Face / Sub-bright region: 48.5 million km², Water surface area: 79.5 million km², Twilight region / Dark Face: 106 million km². Myrhan's bright face is a hot stony desert wilderness bathed in the unending glare of the star. Towards the sub-bright and temperate rings the climate becomes cooler and wetter, eventually giving way to the iceberg-littered Loop Sea, the world's maritime ring, which extends north-south around the world and covers more than a third of the surface. The ocean freezes in the twilight ring, giving way to a gloomy, stony, barren dark face crusted with ice, frost and snow. Despite its strong magnetosphere, charged particles streaming off of the star are gradually stripping away the world's atmosphere, and experts predict it will have been reduced to a trace within a few tens of millions of years. Large aurora are visible in the skies at all times.

World starport
Myrhan has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level
Myrhan possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government
Myrhan is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
