Moughas is a large water world with very deep oceans and less than 1% of its land above sea level. The atmosphere is comfortably breathable. The system has a population between 10,000 and one million sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Regina Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Moughas, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.
Astrography & Planetology
Moughas is a member of the Enope Cluster.

History & Background (Dossier)
Moughas was settled in 1085 by refugees from Feri, fleeing the continuous wars that raged between the hundreds of states. The group consisted of pacifists, intellectuals, persecuted ethnic and religious minorities, and others tired of constant strife and disorder – all seeking a way off the planet. Coming together, the leaders approached the Imperial Ministry of Colonization seeking an Imperial Warrant to settle Moughas, which was duly approved. Selling up, the group moved off world over five years. The granting of the warrant of settlement to the dissidents greatly angered the various nations and laid the seeds for another world war between the pro- and anti-Imperial states.
Mainworld Data
Moughas is designated the mainworld.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
The surface is almost entirely water covered.
The few islands that exist are mostly uninhabited due to the danger of storms and regularly occuring super-waves making above-waterlevel construction prohibitively expensive. A notable exception are the Leeward islands the largest upon which the Downport of Terrapin Station is located. Other settlements include Pylon-cities in some of the planetary shallows which each house about 10 000 inhabitants. The largest agglomeration, the underwater arcology of Ash Ra Tempel is located on the western Kalchas Shallows housing about 800 000 inhabitants. The three largest export-oriented corporations operate from Ash Ra Tempel. Three gargantuan system of marine trenches with depths exceeding 20 000m are mostly unexplored, beyond drone soundings during a scout service survey. [2]
Native Lifeforms
Moughas, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.

World starport
Moughas has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Moughas possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World government
Moughas is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.

World economy
Moughas is a world rich in crystal deposits and hydrocarbons and lacking larger quantities of ores. Henceforth, most construction materials are carbon fibres, where it is possible. The three largest export oriented concerns are indeed the Crystal Harvest Cooperative (CHC), Hydrocarbon Glade (HG) and Blue Planet Engineering (BPE). BPE is a firm specializing on robust underwater installations, materials technology, tidal power generation and deep-see submersible technology. The all operate from the planet's main arcology. [3]
