Mosant is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Ragol Subsector of Course Sector.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It is a part of the Ragol Drift.

System Data
Deelo-Nagin System
The primary is Deelo, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.67 Sols, a mass of 0.94 Sols, and a diameter of 1.266 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Mosant orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a ringed small gas giant, (VI) a large gas giant, (VII) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VIII) a ringed large gas giant, and (IX) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III) Mosant
(III) Mosant is designated the mainworld. It orbits Deelo at a mean distance of 0.72 AU (107.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 230 days 4 hours and a rotation period of 23 hours. The axial tilt is 14 degrees. Mosant has a diameter of 10,367 km, a density of 5.66 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.83 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.96 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N2), 19% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 74% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 27°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 338 million km², Water surface area: 250 million km², Land surface area: 88 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Mosant, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the Mosant system is known to have native life.

World starport
Mosant has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level
Mosant possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World government
Mosant is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
