Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Mont-PC class Patrol Cutter is a combatant smallcraft.

Description (Specifications)

Mont-PC Patrol Cutters One squadron of these is permanently assigned to the starport. They conduct search and rescue operations and render emergency assistance to ships in distress within 100 diameters. Others have been sold to subsector navies for service on carriers and tenders.

They are fast (6-Gs) but not agile. They carry a powerful model/5 ship computer on the bridge which is capable of accurate targeting and tracking tasks. There is a single fusion cannon mounted for point defense. Two specialists are carried for rescue missions and boarding actions as well as extended EVA. They wear combat armor and carry Gauss weapons.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

History & Background (Dossier)

The design was originally commissioned as a military utility craft. It has now been mostly transitioned to secondary and tertiary duties in combat support roles, SAR, medical transport, and other jobs as newer smallcraft have come into use. They are still popular on carriers and tenders serving as on-carrier cargo transport duties.

It is not as popular as the more ubiquitous Modular Cutter and lacks that craft's modularity, higher quality components, and generally superior electronics. It does outperform the typical modular cutter in some areas though.
