Names in Mische are usually singular and five or six syllables long. The first two syllables are normally the family name. Occasionally this is three syllables long. The third syllable defines the gender of the name, male or female with either "ban" (male) or "an" (female). The last one or two syllables is the name of the person. It is common practice for Mische when dealing with other races to use an abbreviated version of their name, usually one of the syllables from the family name.

Each Mische family will try to erect a stele or steles as public monuments. These recount names of family members and important family accomplishments. Genealogy, family history, and even ancestor worship are important parts of Mische life. Stele are usually limited in size and grandeur by social position of the family. History: General Overview
Originally founded as a corporate entity within the Galian Trade League (GTL) in 618 with the corporate headquarters on Ewa (world). It was formed as a mining corporation to exploit the resources on Ewa and later Aldrin. It broke away from the GTL in 786 along with the Viyard Concourse and Mercantile Concord. The Conglomerate has since maintained a truce with the GTL and its successor, the Galian Federation.
The Mische Conglomerate initially consisted of three systems Ewa, Uaboe, and Abricot. The Conglomerate expanded into the Vandir Subsector a few decades later with five additional systems joining between 810 and 889.
History-Era: Milieu 1100
In 1110 the Conglomerate gained control of the Chitek system by buying elections and placing a friendly leadership that voted to join the Conglomerate. There is still resistance among many business entities in this system to this move. The previous controlling world, Parida, is contesting this occupation as well.

As with other prior and current polities in their part of the Crucis Margin the Mische Conglomerate uses a base 20 number system with exponentials. As with their written language Galian the number system is written as a series of symbols in boxes. These are then grouped within a larger box to represent a single number. The arrangement of the boxes also represents the exponent of 20 that the number in it is tied to. The first box in a sequence would be 20^0, the next, 20^1, then 20^2 etc. Each can be multiplied by a base number between 1 and 19. Zero is used and there is a symbol for 20 as a place holder.
- Base operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are done by the way the boxes are arranged.
- Vertical arrangement is addition starting at the bottom of a sequence and going up. Subtraction the sequence starts at the top and goes down.
- Horizontal arrangement, left is multiplication, right is division.
- With multiplication and division it is normal in Mische mathematics to use exponents to simplify large numbers as these make up part of the basic written number.
- A heavy line is used to indicate the start of an equation, a similar line with a diagonal slash through it shows the end of an equation.
- Fractions are represented by dividing the box in two horizontally and placing the appropriate numbers on top and bottom of the line.
- Example: You have three boxes stacked vertically within a grouping second box around them and the starting point is the bottom.
- The first box has the number 8 in it. This would be read as 8 x 20^0 = 8
- The second box has the number 6 in it. This would be read as 6 x 20^1 = 120
- The third box has the number 12 in it. This is read as 12 x 20^2 = 4800
- The number represented by the group would be 8 + 120 + 4800 = 4928
The equivalent of trigonometric functions is also based on 20 with a circle having 400 divisions, 100 per quadrant as the equivalent of 90 degrees in base 10 decimal mathematics.
The introduction of additional symbols for operations came with the introduction of electronic calculating devices and computers to replace the written form of equations where these were often implied by the arrangement of the numbers.

General Trade Information
- The Mische Conglomerate was originally formed as a mining corporation on Ewa. It operated in conjunction with an asteroid mining operation in the Aldrin system. The Ewa system is particularly rich in rare heavy elements and provided the location to refine ores mined in that system and the Aldrin system.
- Upon breaking from the Galian Trade League the Mische Conglomerate wanted to become self sufficient in basic resources, and moved into several adjoining systems. That has resulted in a shift in their focus to a more diversified corporate structure. As of 1116 the Mische Conglomerate has become the "breadbasket" of their region of space.
- The Mische are net exporters of food and related products.
- The Shukikikar League and Federation of Amil are heavily dependent on Mische food exports. The Conglomerate ships approximately 5,000 tons of food per month to the League currently along with about 1,000 tons of processed rare metals.
