Mimku is a vacuum world, with a complete lack of atmosphere. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Bolivar Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Amec Trade Protectorate and the Domain of Vland. Mimku, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Giark. The Nahuatl name of the world is Xiuhcoatl.

History and background

For a "desolate ball of dust" Mimku does very well for itself in what might seem an unusual way – the leisure industry. Zero-gee survivalists travel from far and wide to sample the "Mimku Experience", which usually involves spending several weeks living in pressurized cabins and vacc suits.

The Amec Qualimala has picked up on this activity and regularly sends members for zero-gee environment training. This has cause some friction with the happy, elitist holiday makers who resent the Qualimala members from jumping their bandwagon. Although there have been no injuries, there have been many accidents involving government equipment. The very low law level has hampered the Qualimala attempts as retaliation through official channels.
