Miir is a water world with 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Miir, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. 30% of the world's population is the Minor Race Bwap. 50% of the world's population is the Human Chimera Scanian. During the Long Night this world was named Arduu.
Astrography and planetology
Miir is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

Native Lifeform: Gaarkh
There is currently much debate as to the status of one of the local lifeforms, the seal-like Gaarkh. The creatures are extremely violent, possibly psychopathic, and all peaceful attempts to try and prevent their migrational, suicidal attacks on the cities have failed. Many sophontologists believe that the Gaarkh are a sophontic species, but conclusive results have yet to be proven within the greater scientific community.
History and background
A Bwap/Scanian colony, the planet is extremely rich in aquaculture. The government is based on the Bwap model and is extremely frustrating for visiting humans.
In the 1110s, a recent attack apparently showed the Gaarkh using primitive clubs for the first time, and the local Scanian Sanhedra wishes to call in the Scout service to re-evaluate their status. This has been rejected by the Bwap government, who appear willing to force the race into extinction.
World Starport
Miir has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level
Miir possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government
Miir is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.
World Law Level
Miir has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
This world follows Scanian legal procedures:
- The Gate Bakamaa deals with all monetary matters
- The Gate Bah'ezi deals with contract law, including marriage contracts.
- The Gate Babha'ti deals with governmental law.
- Criminal law is dealt with by the Court of judgement; trial by three judges.
- In minor matters a person can elect to have his case heard by Hedyo't. This consists of any three Scanians who are considered totally impartial, and any judgement reached is considered legal.
