The Midway class Heavy Carrier is a warship.

Description (Specifications)
This Heavy Carrier was the largest fighter carrier built by the Solomani Confederation as of the start of the Solomani Rim War. It carried two 50 ton capacity launch tubes to facilitate rapid launch and recovery of the fifty eight fighter squadrons. Designed to serve as the flagship for a large fleet it mounted a full flag bridge with redundant computer. The fleet admiral and their flag staff can focus on command and control of various fleet assets while the captain fights their ship. It lacked the armor to stand toe to toe with ships of the line at this tech level. It carried a battalion of marines with orbital assault capsules, and a battalion of Grav APCs. The design featured a heavy sand caster load out to discourage attacks from shoals of missiles and to absorb laser attacks. Otherwise the offensive weapon suite resembled a Battle Cruiser.
The Midway class Heavy Carrier was built by the Boötean Federation Naval Directorate during the Solomani Rim War.
