Miam supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. The governance of this world is from Degushush (Dagudashaag 1302). The world lies substantially outside of the habitable zone of the system and environmental temperatures are well below the freezing point of many gases.  This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Old Suns Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Miam, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Nigmim.

Astrography and planetology

Miam is a member of the Shegimuud Trace.

Miam is a frigidly cold world that supports no native life. It would appear that the planet once orbited a star in its habitable zone, but for some reason broke its orbit and drifted into the outer reaches of the Miam system several millennia ago. Humans and S'mrii can breath the atmosphere once it has been sufficiently warmed.

History and background

Efforts to site a permanent colony there are well on their way. The entire project is the brainchild of Professor Ur*tkrchiakh, a S'mrii from the University of Mimu. The project became reality through a linkup between representatives of Hortalez et Cie, who are financing the project, the University of Mimu, providing the expertise and the Imperial Ministry of Colonization. The eventual aim is to move over a million settlers to the world over the next ten years and begin agriculture on a commercial scale.
