Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Methuselah class System Defense Monitor is a defensive warship.

Description (Specifications)

Built for the Caliphate of Estalia this is a heavily armored and reinforced, buffered planetoid hull structure. As a result it is unstreamlined and incapable of wilderness refueling. It features TL–12 drives with 3 G acceleration and 3 agility. It has hangar capacity for twenty 90 ton Kaufman Class Dual Environment Fighters which function as SDBs. It can also carry twenty 60 ton marine recovery boats. It is fitted with a 90 ton capacity launch tube facility. The 900 marines have drop capsules and use 20 G-Carriers. Built to withstand considerable punishment they are essentially immune to surface explosions and weapon impacts. Only meson weapons can produce interior explosions and nuclear weapons can cause radiation damage to interior systems. The design features abundant back up features including; a complete low watch, a model 6 fib computer, nuclear dampers and meson screens. The weapons suite features a spinal mounted meson gun and 400 heavy missile bays. There are 252 batteries of sand casters, ten repulsors, sixty batteries of beam lasers, ten fusion gun bays, and ten particle accelerator bays.

These war moons are inspired by early Solomani sub light asteroid colonizers. The squadron of ten hide among the rings of the gas giants waiting for refueling prey. With the arsenal at their command only a large squadron of advanced Battleships would stand any chance against them.
