Mesh Personal Armor is a modern TL:7-9 technology personal armor and modern successor to archaic chain mail. It is a modern ballistic cloth combined with a flexible mesh, general of metals, composites, polymers, or even ceramics.
Higher tech versions, generally manufactured in the TL:10-12 epoch can absorb and redistribute kinetic energy even more effectively. Some forms can even store, redistribute, or even transform the kinetic energy into usable power. Higher tech successor versions are rumored to be able to do even more. [5]
