System data
The system primary is Fless, an ordinary orange main sequence star. (I) Slimpick, a small gas giant, orbits in Fless's habitable zone; (Ib) Merit is its largest satellite and is designated as the mainworld. (II, III) two rocky worlds with thin atmospheres, (IV) a large gas giant, (V, VI) two small rocky vacuum worlds, and (VII) a final rocky exotic atmosphere world form the outer system. Many of the worlds in the system retain families of satellites.
(I) Slimpick
(I) Slimpick is a small gas giant that orbits Fless at a mean distance of 0.2 AU and has an orbital period of 62.75 days. It has a diameter of 48,000km and is a mottled pale green colour. It retains a family of two major satellites of which the outermost, (Ib) Merit, is designated the mainworld.

World starport
Merit has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level
Merit possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Merit has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
