The Mark V class Death Machine is an Armored Fighting Vehicle.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Imperial Mark V Death Machine (TECH LEVEL-15): Build in secret on the planet Brwygaid (world), tactics necessitate that this beast be provided with support. Its endurance demands a tender/refueling vehicle be deployed to keep it in the fight, if the mission duration is to exceed a quick strike. They fight under the direction of Vargr drone director/operators who follow their progress from a safe distance in heavily shielded command carriers. The war drones can not perform their own maintenance and require help refueling and rearming once ammo stores have been depleted. The drones excel at wading into the thick of combat in a target rich environment. Their weapon load is relatively short ranged and specialized at neutralizing a large number of lightly armored targets. Defensively they trust their thick armor to protect from most hits. The laser sensor and prismatic aerosols guard against laser guided precision weapon strikes. The extensive ECM provides some stealth to make detection difficult and to confuse lower tech homing missiles. It can lay waste to platoons of battle dress or combat armored infantry in short order. It is not shielded against radiation, escorting nuclear damper vehicles are necessary if the enemy plans to use nuclear weapons to stop them.

The vehicle has no sophont crew and is directed by a TL–15 vehicle drone brain. It mounts a stabilized, forward firing, standard fusion Z gun in the chassis with with TL–14 direct fire control.
Vehicle Dimensions: Height: 3m. Width: 6m. Length: 9m.
Total usable volume: 162 m3
Total mass: 1,136.0358 tons.
Production Cost: Cr. 23,081,103
Movement: Maximum 1,770 kph/1,475 cm; Cruise 1,327.5 kph/1,106 cm; NOE 190 kph/158 cm.
Movement effect on fire: None
Armor: Chassis all faces 70.
Target Size DMs: +5 low and no high hits.
Equipment: TL 15 avionics, TL 14 direct fire control, laser sensor (detect on 2+) linked to 100 cans of prismatic aerosol, extensive ECM, map box/GPS, thermal and image enhancement, 300 power target acquisition LADAR, 1,000 km range meson communicator, full weapon stabilization.
Power: 360 megawatt fusion power plant consumes 540 liters of fuel per hour, fuel capacity is 2,585.744 liters, enough for 4.7 hours. The grav generators produce 1.6257975 G's for maneuver.
Weapons:
A 61.7 MW input fusion Z gun is mounted in the front of the chassis. It can engage 1 target per phase and is automatically spotted when it fires.
Its direct fire characteristics are:
Effective Long Extreme
750(79)/7cm(63) 1,500(68)/5cm(52) 3,000(45)/2cm(29)
There are four magazine fed 50kg TAC missile launchers in the chassis. Each has a 20 missile magazine capacity. The machine is delivered with a full load of (40) Target Designated missiles with 25cm HEAP 59 warheads +3 high performance DM, and 2.5km range (309 Cr. each). These are complimented by (40) +8 IR Follow up missiles with the same range and high speed performance (509 Cr. each). Homing missiles with the same performance and range are available for 409 Cr. each, but are not included with purchase price.
There are six remote turrets fitted with 4cm RAM automatic grenade launchers. There is ammo capacity for 9,600 HEAP 36 grenades included in the purchase price listed above. This is sufficient for (20) firing phases for each launcher. They can each engage 2 targets and have +2 signature. Their direct fire characteristics are:
Effective Long Extreme
37 +4 75 +3 150 +2
There are four FGMP-15s mounted in pairs in two remote turrets. One is chin mounted and covers the front arc and the other covers the rear half of the vehicle. Each turret can engage 2 targets and are automatically spotted when they fire. Their direct fire characteristics are:
Effective Long Extreme
45(34) 90(22) 150(4)
There are thirty TL–13 x-ray laser rifles mounted in cluster of five rifles in six remote turrets. Each turret can engage 5 targets and can be used to paint targets in low power mode for TAC missiles and supporting indirect fire missions. Each rifle is equipped with its own 200 shot capacity battery. Their direct fire characteristics are:
Effective Long Extreme
40(20) 80(12) 400(4)
Maintenance:
Vehicle: 5
Weapons: 17
Electronics: 24

Basic Vehicle Characteristics[edit]
