Marc Miller was one of the founding partners of the Game Designers Workshop (GDW), and one of the original designers of the Traveller RPG.
Description (Biography)
Marc [William] Miller (born 1947) is a wargame and role-playing game designer and author. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Sociology. He is a veteran of the United States Army (ultimately attaining the rank of Captain); he served in Vietnam with the American Infantry Division. He lives in Bloomington Illinois with his wife Darlene.
History & Background (Dossier)
After GDW folded, the Traveller rights reverted to him, resulting in three more editions of the game, administered by his company Far Future Enterprises:
- Marc Miller's Traveller (aka T4) - "set in the early days of the Third Imperium".
- GURPS Traveller - "Created by a handshake with Steve Jackson. What if the Rebellion never happened?"
- Traveller 20 (T20) - "The D20 version set at the turn of the Millennium."
- Traveller 5th (T5) - The ultimate (the 5th) edition of the Traveller role-playing game.
(Edition quotes from Far Future Enterprises's Traveller web page.)
