Majen is an icy, low-population world, with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Annistu Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System Data
Foran-Majen System
The primary is Foran, a dim red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I-I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (I-II) a vacuum worldlet, (II) Liskin, an exotic atmosphere radworld: (IIa) Majen is its only major satellite, (III-I) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (III-II) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (IV) a ringed large gas giant, (V-I) a small gas giant, (V-II) a large gas giant, and (VI) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(II) Liskin
(II) Liskin (UWP Y7A0000-0) is designated a Radworld. It orbits Foran at a mean distance of 0.49 AU (73.3 million km), within the outer system. It has an orbital period of 217 days 18 hours and a rotation period of 68 hours. The axial tilt is 19 degrees. Liskin has a diameter of 10,896 km, a density of 6.19 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.96 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Exotic, with a mean surface pressure of 0.75 bar and a composition of 86% nitrogen (N2), 11% carbon dioxide (CO2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% abiotic oxygen (O2), radon (Rn), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Liskin has high levels of background radiation and radioactive atmospheric gases: emission rates exceed 55 rads per hour. The world has no hydrosphere. Mean surface temperature: -132°C. The climate is rated as Frigid moderate major extreme seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star sweep across the globe.
Mainworld Data
(IIa) Majen
(IIa) Majen is the only major moons of (II) Liskin and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 25 diameters (270,000 km), with an orbital period of 15 days 20 hours: it is tidally locked to Liskin. The axial tilt is 7 degrees relative to Liskin. Majen has a diameter of 6,353 km, a density of 5.10 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.46 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Liskin cause occasional geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Trace, with a mean surface pressure of 0.03 bar and a composition of 92% carbon dioxide (CO2), 5% nitrogen (N2), 1% argon (Ar), 1% neon (Ne), and 1% methane (CH4), abiotic oxygen (O2), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. Around 11% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -146°C. The climate is rated as Frigid and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is ethereal and weak weather systems driven by the star ghost across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 127 million km², Land surface area: 113 million km², Ice surface area: 14 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Foran-Majen System
No world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Majen has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level
Majen possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Majen is governed by a Corporate Polity with a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. A company town, or world. The typical corporate run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
