Lycose is a poor, non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Genesti Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System Data
Durian-Lycose System
The primary is Durian, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.52 Sols, a mass of 0.871 Sols and a diameter of 1.265 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, and (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world. (III) Lycose is designated the mainworld and orbits within the habitable zone. (IV) a large gas giant, (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a small gas giant, and (VII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Pip Subsystem
The companion is Pip, a dwarf star lying approximately 22,050 AU from Durian. It has a luminosity of 0.00004 Sols, a mass of 0.83 Sols and a diameter of 12,500 km. (I) a dense icy planetoid belt, (II) a sparse icy planetoid belt, and (III) a small ice giant form the outer system. The ice giant retains a single major satellite.
Mainworld Data
(III) Lycose
(III) Lycose is designated the mainworld. It orbits Durian at a mean distance of 0.68 AU (102 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 219 days 11 hours and a rotation period of 27 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Lycose has a diameter of 8,172 km, a density of 7.23 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.84 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.39 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N2), 18% oxygen (O2), 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 29% of the surface is covered in seas and lakes of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 13°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences moderate seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and weak weather systems driven by the star and the seas drift across the globe.
Satellites:
Lycose retains two satellites, a heavily cratered vacuum worldlet named Licin and a trace atmosphere worldlet named Momu:
- (IIIa) Licin (UWP G200000-0, orbiting at 35 Diameters/286,000 km)
- (IIIb) Momu (UWP F311213-9, orbiting at 40 Diameters/327,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 210 million km², Land surface area: 149 million km², Water surface area: 61 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Durian-Lycose System
Lycose, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels and minute multicellular organisms that exist in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal. The most advanced forms are primitive worms measuring millimeters in length and tiny shelled swimmers.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
Pip Subsystem
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Lycose has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level
Lycose possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Lycose is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World military

World economy
- Resources: F (Extremely abundant)
- Labor: 5 (Hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 3 (Very limited)
- Efficiency: +0
Trade data

World demographics
Population: 4,850,000
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Solomani (Major Race): 4.36 million (90% of the population), descended from immigrants from all across the Distant Fringe. They refer to themselves as Terrans.
