System Data

Durian-Lycose System

The primary is Durian, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.52 Sols, a mass of 0.871 Sols and a diameter of 1.265 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, and (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world. (III) Lycose is designated the mainworld and orbits within the habitable zone. (IV) a large gas giant, (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a small gas giant, and (VII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Pip Subsystem

The companion is Pip, a dwarf star lying approximately 22,050 AU from Durian. It has a luminosity of 0.00004 Sols, a mass of 0.83 Sols and a diameter of 12,500 km. (I) a dense icy planetoid belt, (II) a sparse icy planetoid belt, and (III) a small ice giant form the outer system. The ice giant retains a single major satellite.

(III) Lycose is designated the mainworld. It orbits Durian at a mean distance of 0.68 AU (102 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 219 days 11 hours and a rotation period of 27 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Lycose has a diameter of 8,172 km, a density of 7.23 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.84 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.39 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N₂), 18% oxygen (O₂), 1% carbon dioxide (CO₂), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H₂O), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 29% of the surface is covered in seas and lakes of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 13°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences moderate seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and weak weather systems driven by the star and the seas drift across the globe.

Lycose retains two satellites, a heavily cratered vacuum worldlet named Licin and a trace atmosphere worldlet named Momu:

Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal. The most advanced forms are primitive worms measuring millimeters in length and tiny shelled swimmers.
