Lupigaa has both an unbreathable thin atmosphere and a lack of surface water making habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This a low technology world with technology competency below the standard for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Lupigaa, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Luurashar.

Astrography and planetology

This desert world has suffered an ecological disaster that has caused immense pollution and environmental damage. It is barely habitable by most sophonts, who must struggle to exist here.

History and background

This impoverished desert world has almost nothing to offer, but once this was not so.

Historical Event: Freighter Disaster

In the early years of the Third Imperium it was a small, successful, if somewhat fragile, farming colony. the inhabitants cultivated a local moss-like plants for their pharmaceutical value. Power was supplied by a small fusion reactor on the shores of a small sea. In 134 a large freighter mis-jumped into system, collided with one of the many small chunks of rock that orbit the world. As the ship moved into the upper reaches of the atmosphere to attempt landing the drives failed and the ship crashed into the power station. The resulting explosion vaporized most of the small sea and contaminated the land and air around for a thousand kilometers.

The event persuaded most of the inhabitants it was time to leave, and the world has been in a slow decline ever since.
