System Data
Lucis System
The primary is an unnamed ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 6.26 Sols, a mass of 1.54 Sols, and a diameter of 2.198 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a sparse stony planetoid belt. Orbital positions (II) through (V) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (VI) Lucis orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VII) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VIII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (IX-I) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (IX-II) a trace atmosphere worldlet, and (X) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system – orbital position (II) is empty. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Red Subdwarf Subsystem
The companion is an unnamed red subdwarf star that orbits the primary at a mean distance of 0.67 AU (orbital position (III), 100 million km, within the primary star's inner system) and has an orbital period of 161 days 10 hours. It has a luminosity of 0.011 Sols, a mass of 0.154 Sols, and a diameter of 256,000 km. (I) a sparse stony planetoid belt forms its system.
Mainworld Data
(VI) Lucis
(VI) Lucis is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 2.6 AU (389 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 3 years 138 days and a rotation period of 26 hours. The axial tilt is 11 degrees. Lucis has a diameter of 11,638 km, a density of 4.78 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.79 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.72 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by trace airborne contaminants of organic origin, which produce a psychological response in humans. Approximately 80% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.5m. Mean surface temperature: 23°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Mainworld geography and topography
Total surface area: 426 million km², Water surface area: 341 million km², Land surface area: 85 million km².
Breathing the atmosphere without a filter mask risks exposure to psychoactive airborne substances. Symptoms of exposure include include euphoria, hysteria, mania and hallucinations, and range in severity from mild to extreme.
Native Lifeforms
Lucis has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (VII) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of water and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
