(VI-I) Lordan is designated the mainworld. It orbits Shalahar at a mean distance of 2.43 AU (363.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 2 years 248 days and a rotation period of 17.5 hours. The axial tilt is 176 degrees. Lordan has a diameter of 10,085 km, a density of 5.91 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.85 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 1.06 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N<small>2</small>), 21% oxygen (O<small>2</small>), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H<small>2</small>O), carbon dioxide (CO<small>2</small>), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 74% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 35°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe. The climate is static.

System Data

Shalahar-Lordan System

The primary is Shalahar, a white subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 12 Sols, a mass of 2 Sols, and a diameter of 3.618 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a trace atmosphere inner world, (III) a vacuum worldlet, (IV) a trace atmosphere radworld, and (V) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world – orbital position (I) is empty. (VI-I) Lordan, designated the mainworld, and (VI-II) a dense atmosphere stormworld have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (VII) a large gas giant, and (VIII) a ringed small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Joka Subsystem

The companion is Joka, a dim red main sequence star that lies approximately 3,440 AU from Shalahar and approximately 1,500 AU from Kalamid, the far companion. It has a luminosity of 0.0055 Sols, a mass of 0.302 Sols, and a diameter of 444,000 km. (I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) a sparse icy planetoid belt, and (IV) a ringed small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Kalamid Subsystem

The far companion is Kalamid, a dim red main sequence star that lies approximately 4,500 AU from Shalahar and approximately 1,500 AU from Joka, the companion. It has a luminosity of 0.004 Sols, a mass of 0.273 Sols, and a diameter of 414,000 km. (I) a dense stony planetoid belt, (II) a trace atmosphere radworld, and (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Neither world retains satellites.

Mainworld Data

(VI-I) Lordan

(VI-I) Lordan is designated the mainworld. It orbits Shalahar at a mean distance of 2.43 AU (363.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 2 years 248 days and a rotation period of 17.5 hours. The axial tilt is 176 degrees. Lordan has a diameter of 10,085 km, a density of 5.91 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.85 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 1.06 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 74% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 35°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe. The climate is static.

Satellite

Lordan retains a single natural satellite, a vacuum worldlet named Mite:

(VIa) Mite (known UWP ?S00???-?, orbiting at 6 Diameters/61,000 km)

Native Lifeforms

Lordan, the mainworld, lying within the habitable zone, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The temperate but marginally hospitable stormworld lying in orbital position (VI-II) around the primary (within the habitable zone) has native life, entirely consisting of extremophile single-celled cyanobacteria-equivalents that can be found in every ecological niche on the world. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
