History & Background (Dossier)

Lemish is an agricultural, nonindustrial world, as well as the subsector capital, still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lemish Subsector of Corridor Sector in the Domain of Vland.
  • This world has a nearby Naval Base associated with it. There is also a colony at Weyland (world) which functions primarily as an additional base for Imperial military vessels.
  • This world contains a Scout Base associated with it.
  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

Local Nobility

Lemish, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

Residence of Sir Elgir Nekeshand, a former official in the subsector government

non-cannon: Kept here under careful supervision to avoid trouble. Sir George Chu proved to be a bit of an embarrassment to his family. His military blunders, in his short bloody career, cost many innocent lives.

History-Era: Rebellion

Lemish's starport and industrial capacity were severely damaged by the 1118 raids by the Taarskoerzn.

  • The planetary governor fervently declared his unwillingness to pay protection money to Vargr corsairs.
  • In retaliation, the Vargr mustered a fleet and sacked the planet, specifically concentrating their attacks on the port and manufacturing complexes.
  • The planet's technology dropped three levels.
  • The shipyards were totally destroyed, and the other port facilities were barely functional after the attack.
  • At present, rebuilding efforts are in progress, but the disruption of interstellar trade in the sector has prevented the inhabitants from getting crucial supplies.
  • Remnants of the Vargr fleet continue to patrol the system, and travelers are advised to avoid Lemish if possible.
  • New Church of Submission founded sometime between 1118 and 1121
