Lamdas has a tainted or unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Bolivar Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Lamdas, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Liuduuze.
Astrography and planetology
Lamdas is a member of the Vilani Run.
Its low oxygen levels and little free-standing water have prevented any serious colonization effort.

Point of Interest: Terraforming Evaluation
Scout Service engineers are undertaking a feasibility study (as part of the Bolivar terraforming initiative) on simultaneously raising oxygen and water levels. A recent study has shown substantial quantities of water trapped below the polar and sub-polar surface, in the form of complex water-methane ice silicates. The terraforming feasibility is an ongoing project designed to provide much needed environment for colonization.
History and background
The IISS has recently finished a hundred-year program on Rruekhsik (Dagudashaag 0738) to raise the atmosphere pressure and available water and aims to use the same successful methods to develop Lamdas.
