System Data
Kuro System
The primary is an unnamed ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 3.5 Sols, a mass of 1.3 Sols, and a diameter of 1.948 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, (II) a vacuum worldlet, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IV) an exotic atmosphere stormworld. (V) Kuro orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VIII) a ringed large gas giant, and (IX) a ringed small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(V) Kuro
(V) Kuro is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 1.72 AU (257.3 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 357 days and a rotation period of 27.5 hours. The axial tilt is 21 degrees. Kuro has a diameter of 11,024 km, a density of 5.48 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.86 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.71 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 19% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 59% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 9°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellites
Kuro retains two natural satellites, a vacuum worldlet named Morion and a trace atmosphere worldlet named Cherro:
- (Va) Morion (UWP ?200???-?, orbiting at 12 Diameters/130,000 km)
- (Vb) Cherro (UWP ?310???-?, orbiting at 30 Diameters/330,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 382 million km², Water surface area: 225 million km², Land surface area: 157 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Kuro, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (VI) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
