Kurkhi is an icy vacuum world with little or no atmosphere and a significant quantity of water frozen on the surface. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Pact Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Kurkhi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Mir.

Astrography and planetology

Kurkhi is a member of the Dagudashaag Main. The main world is a small, cold world of little importance.

History and background

The discovery of valuable mineral resources in 1100 in the planetoid belt that orbits close to the primary has led to the massive influx of prospectors and support personnel to Kurkhi. The system now boasts a population of just over half a million, four-fifths of which live within underground complexes on Kurkhi itself.

As most of the water on Kurkhi, that is trapped as ice within the rocky crust, is labeled as a fuel source for the planet's huge power stations, fuel for space and starships is imported from the inner gas giant (Ankhi) and refined at the starport. A consortium of big business led by SuSAG and backed by the subsector government on Medurma (Dagudashaag 2124) are investing heavily in the upgrading of the starport and the development of the system to cope with the expected boom.
