Kiuur has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Old Suns Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Kiuur, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Vluuuum.

History and background

Kiuur is home to a reclusive sect, the Kirashi, who follow the teachings of the Vilani prophet Mirashiku. He wrote that all people must strive to become as close to perfection as they can and believed that the best way to do this was through physical fitness, mental purity and mastering weapons disciplines. He also wrote that the sword represented all that was bad with Humaniti - once a man has learned respect for the sword and discovered how to conquer it nothing was impossible.

There are no laws on the worlds but there is an incredibly strict code of conduct. Failure to follow this code usually ends in a sword-fight. If swordplay is involved it is extremely rare for a Kirashi to lose. They make no allowances for off-worlders and clearly state that all off-worlders who visit there world must expect to be treated like everyone else.
