Khumara has a breathable, habitable atmosphere and a reasonable amount of surface water. The system supports a population in the hundreds of thousands of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Mimu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Lancian Cultural Region and the Domain of Vland. Khumara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Irpi.

Astrography and planetology

Khumara is a desert wildlife reserve established initially by the S'mrii but currently run and funded by the Pan Galactic Friends of Life. The planet itself has been divided into several regions using sonic barriers to allow planetary species to reside next to each other while maintaining a balanced ecology. While a wildlife reserve, it is not an Imperial Reserve World.

Native Lifeforms

Khumara itself has only one macroscopic native species, the Lemmitah, a primitive flatworm that can grow up to ten metres in length. Today Khumara has recreated over eighteen ecosystems on its surface and is home to thousands of desert species including several species that have died out on their own planets, and the sanctuary is currently in the process of re-introducing them back to their native environments.

History and background

Although Khumara does not encourage tourists to visit they do have a highly profitable business selling educational holo-programs throughout the Imperium.

Records show this world hosted a Scout Base during the Second Imperium.

A single city has been established near the north pole called Kamamosku, Kehuu for "Sanctuary."
