Khruel is a fluid world with an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Arnakhish Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Khruel, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Nima Khi.
Astrography and planetology
The planet is a hellish wilderness with but a single settlement: Port Famine.

History and background
Port Famine is an independent mining settlement, which refines valuable chemicals from the planetary surface.
Point of Interest: "Kamikaze Run" Competition
The Khruel system is better known for its biannual Kamikaze Run competition. Independent traders from throughout the sector compete to be the first ship to safely travel through the inner planetary belt and get out the other side with a specially planted beacon. The belt is composed of billions of small asteroids, none larger than 50km in diameter. The competitors have to plan a route through the belt to the beacon, avoiding collision and planted mines which are timed to explode at hourly intervals. The winner of the race, as well as winning the prize money of Mcr1.1, gains a great deal of respect and sponsorship – especially as 28% of all ships never finish but are wrecked in the belt.
