Kehuu is the language of the Lancian Cultural Region.

Kehuu is the first language of those of Lancian extraction, and is an official language on many worlds in Taapvaia, Tansa, Isi Ahto, and Mimu subsectors. Kehuu translator chips can be obtained at all Class A and B starports in these subsectors.

History & Background (Dossier)

Historical Linguistics: The language is believed to have evolved from the ancient Terran language spoken by the transplanted Humaniti that made up the Lancians. It is descended from pre-contact Kukhenian, but since then it has evolved, absorbing many Vilani and Anglic words and phrases. It is a particularly flowery tongue, and is often described as the Language of Romance. In keeping with the artistic and creative traditions of the Lancians; actors, poets and writers often use it.
