Kashni has a tainted or unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Sapphyre Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Kashni, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Igar Ir.

Kashni is a member of the Dagudashaag Main. Kashni is the thirteenth satellite of the inner, large gas giant Inaash.

The gas giant and its satellites carry an Amber classification, dissuading travellers from approaching the naval base. Traffic is directed towards the outer gas giant where a small automated refiling station operates a class F starport serving vessels on the Dagudashaag Main.

This small world is the only permanent inhabited body in this comparatively barren system, serving as the Imperial Navy as a minor repair base.
