Karsa has an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system supports a population in the hundreds of millions. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Iiradu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Karsa, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a viscount. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Khiim.

  • It also known as the Planet of Dreams.

Astrography and planetology

Karsa is fondly known throughout the subsector of the Planet of Dreams. The exotic composition of chemicals in the world's atmosphere is breathable by Humaniti. After about two hours, breathing without some form of protection causes light-headedness and giddy behavior. After another hour causes striking aural and visual hallucinations. Exposure after four hours causes serious damage to the lungs, leading to hemorrhaging in the lungs and a swift if messy death.

The exact cause of these effects are not widely understood off Karsa, and the Karsans are very keen to keep it that way, mostly to keep their tourist trade active. Karsa is a popular stop for jaded tourists seeking new thrills and religious disciples wanting insights. There are a number of tourist killed every year — when the begin to hallucinate wildly, remembering to mask up is not always top of the list of priorities.

Native Karsans do not suffer these effects. Speculation is some immunity is conferred during the Ceremony of Holy Breath all natives undergo three days after birth.

History and background

Karsa is governed by First Person Jumar Haoo, a former priest of the Church of the Holy Breath. Jumar lead a coup against the ruling Geni family in 1063, declaring himself First persons among many rather than the ruler of all. Under Haoo, Karsa has begun to prosper and is well loved by a majority.
