Karadin is an icy, low-population vacuum world, with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with little or no atmosphere and nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Utt Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.

Obost System
The primary is Obost, a dim red subdwarf star. It has a luminosity of 0.00103 Sols, a mass of 0.081 Sols, and a diameter of 109,000 km. (II) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, and (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system – orbital position (I) is empty. Both of the worlds retain satellites.
Norak-Karadin System
The companion is Norak, a dim red subdwarf star. It has a luminosity of 0.00006 Sols, a mass of 0.058 Sols, and a diameter of 73,700 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) Haspur, a ringed small gas giant: (IIb) Karadin is its outer moon and is designated the mainworld, and (III) an exotic atmosphere radworld form the outer system. Only the gas giant retains satellites.
(II) Haspur
(II) Haspur is a ringed small gas giant that orbits Norak at a mean distance of 0.41 AU (61.3 million km) and has an orbital period of 1 year 33 days. It has a diameter of 37,000 km and is a mottled bluish-green colour. It retains a family of two major satellites of which the outer, (IIb) Karadin, is designated the mainworld.

(IIb) Karadin
(IIb) Karadin is the outer of the two major moons of (II) Haspur and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 12 diameters (444,000 km), with an orbital period of 1 year 197 days: it is tidally locked to Haspur. It has an axial tilt of 5 degrees. Karadin has a diameter of 5,113 km, a density of 4.27 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.31 G. Tidal stresses caused by the gravitational pull of Haspur cause frequent geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. Around 7% of the surface is covered in a crust of water ice. Mean surface temperature: -137°C.

There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
