Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
 +
* -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
 +
* -3700s onwards: waves of Vargr settle worlds across the region.

 +
* -1998: the First Empire of Gashikan is formed.
 +
* -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
 +
* circa -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
 +
* -1658: the Sack of Gashikan, an atrocity known throughout the coreward parts of Charted Space.
 +
* -1483 to -321: the Gashikan Race Wars rage between human and Vargr extremists across the Extents.

Kanogo is a high-population, pre-rich world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.

  • It lacks adequate resources to expand its economy to a rich status.
  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
  • It is a member of the Ruler of Five in the Ungersol Subsector of Meshan Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Kanogo is a trinary star system.

  • All three are red main sequence stars.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Kanogo is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Kanogo has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Kanogo has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Blank World Map Arid.png
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Kanogo is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.

  • Travel to this world is prohibited.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Kanogo does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Population (P)[edit]

Kanogo has a population of 3,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Kanogo possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.

  • These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
  • This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
    • Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
    • Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.

World Government (G)[edit]

Kanogo is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, have direct influence by controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Kanogo has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -1 (unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: B (abundant)
  • Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
  • Infrastructure: 4 (very limited)
  • Efficiency: +3 (improved)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: D (fragmented)
  • Acceptance: 8 (friendly)
  • Strangeness: 9 (extremely confusing)
  • Symbols: 4 (concrete)
