Elisiad-J'Lai Edur System

The primary is Elisiad, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.102 Sols, a mass of 1.02 Sols, and a diameter of 1.399 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a very thin atmosphere inner world, and (III) an exotic atmosphere inner world. (IV) Pathesu, a large gas giant, orbits within the habitable zone: (IVe) J’Lai Edur is its outer moon and is designated the mainworld. (V) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, and (VI) a ringed small gas giant form the inner part of the outer system. Orbital positions (VII) through (XII) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (XIII) a small ice giant, and (XIV) a sparse icy planetoid belt form the outer part of the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Fentela Subsystem

The companion is Fentela, a dim red subdwarf star that orbits Elisiad at approximately 40 AU (orbital position (X), 6 billion km) and has an orbital period of 250 years. It has a luminosity of 0.00103 Sols, a mass of 0.081 Sols, and a diameter of 109,000 km. (I) a trace atmosphere iceworld, and (II) a small gas giant form the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.

(IV) Pathesu

(IV) Pathesu is a ringed large gas giant that orbits Elisiad at a mean distance of 1.13 AU (169.1 million km) and has an orbital period of 1 year 78 days. It has a diameter of 111,000 km and is a banded deep tan colour. It retains a family of five major satellites of which the outer, (IVe) J'Lai Edur, is designated the mainworld.

Pathesu has a vast ring system and retains five major satellites. The rings are an annular disk divided into regions of greater and lesser density. (IVa) Jalak and (IVc) Elescu are cratered vacuum worldlets, (IVb) Monsara is an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (IVd) Yendim is a dense atmosphere hospitable world, and (IVe) J'Lai Edur is designated the mainworld.

Mainworld Data

(IVe) J'Lai Edur

(IVe) J'Lai Edur is the outer of the five major moons of (IV) Pathesu and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 30 diameters (3.34 million km), with an orbital period of 1 year 147 days: it is tidally locked to Pathesu. The axial tilt is 12 degrees. J'Lai Edur has a diameter of 11,520 km, a density of 6.03 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.98 G. Tidal stresses caused by the gravitational pull of Pathesu cause occasional geological activity. J'Lai Edur retains an atmosphere rated as Dense, with a surface pressure of 2.11 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, water vapor, neon and other trace gases. Around 69% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 19°C. The atmosphere is active and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal. J’Lai Edur has a strong magnetosphere that helps to negate the worst effects of Pathesu’s intense radiation fields.

Mainworld geography and topography

Total surface area: 417 million km², Water surface area: 288 million km², Land surface area: 129 million km². There are two large equatorial continents, a smaller northern polar continent, and many large islands and archipelagos. There are small polar icecaps and the equatorial continents are hot and heavily forested.

J'Lai Edur has extensive, abundant native life, with organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
