Ipkur is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population in the hundreds of thousands of sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ipkur, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a baron. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Daiim Kuur.

Astrography and planetology

Ipkur is one of the most spectacular worlds in Dagudashaag Sector, the vast majority of the land is sculpted into a vast series of terraces.

Mainworld Geography

The terraces of Ipkur climb over the chains of hills and mountains as far as the eye can see. Linked to these terraces are an extensive network of irrigation channels and canals. The canals and terraces were required to capture the scares fresh water rainfall, and designed to produce the largest volume of food in Imperial space.

Point of Interest: Terraforming Project

Ipkur rose from a barren, sterile world to a thriving, fruitful paradise in less than two hundred years thanks to one of the first advanced terraforming project in the core regions of the Imperium. Initiated in 802, it was a joint project between the University of Medurma, the IISS, the Ministry of Colonization, and Yansiir Biological Systems.

Ipkur lies within the habitable zone of the primary providing the planet with the basic environment to support life. The planet has a rich, and diverse, mineral base and a sufficient quantity of water to support life. Once the canals and terraces were started, there followed large scale introduction of plants, especially crops. There has been little in the way of animal life except certain pollinators required for the farmed crops.

The success of the project has paved the way for the Bolivar terraforming initiative and subsequent large scale terraforming projects in Bolivar Subsector.
